The Surgery is an organic and modern take on the old-fashioned ‘against the grain’ Farell Grimshaw design of the ‘close-knit’ Claudia Place.

A young couple and their two daughters adopted a derelict clinic ‘foreign to its surroundings’, with the intention of creating a permeable, bright and serene home. The 3 LDK embeds the element of verticality through the louvre design and steel cladding, reflecting the form of the surrounding nature. The inside flows out into the various green spaces such as the ground floor courtyard, the little plant garden and a rooftop zen garden, resonating with the value and importance of well-being.
